Private Rooms

Location: 2nd Floor

The Hospital has 25 private rooms for patients and their attendants who wish to stay back in the hospital over night after a cataract surgery. In other complicated surgeries, it may be a medical necessity to stay in the hospital as per the advice by the doctor.

Each room is self sufficient unit with the following facilities:

Specially designed Godrej beds with back rest and under storage for patient and attendant.

24 hrs room service.

Intercom connectivity.

Hot water supply on demand.

Air conditioning (optional)



There are also specially designed paediatric rooms with a child friendly ambience and specially designed toilets for Children, with low height commodes, wash basins and showers.


General Wards

Location: 1st & 2nd Floors

There are 5 wards in total in the building, exclusively for the patients who cannot afford to pay for the services. They are huge halls with comfortable Godrej beds numbering 30 to 80 depending on the size of the ward.

The total number of beds are 200 including a special ward for isolating infected cases.

The wards in each floor have one attached dining hall where the food is served free of cost to the patients. All the wards are connected with intercoms and a Public address system that pipes soothing music continuously. There is also a special paediatric section in the wards.

Other Facilities


Location: Ground Floor

The hospital has an in house modern kitchen cum canteen. Breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are available everyday for the outpatients as well as the inpatients at a subsidized rate. Apart from this, the food for the free patients coming via the outreach camps is also cooked here and supplied to the respective wards. The food is completely vegetarian and predominantly south Indian. The hospital recommends that all patients have this food which is prepared under utmost hygienic conditions.

Optical shop

Location: Ground Floor

Sankar Foundation has an in house optical shop where the entire range of frames and lenses currently in vogue is for sale. All the glass prescriptions that are given in the OPDs are thoroughly checked and the patient is given a counseling by a trained Optometrist on the correct type of lenses to be used by him.

An in house Pharmacy is run by the Foundation consisting of all the latest eye related medicines and some general drugs.

All the inpatients of the hospital can avail of the fully automated laundry services in the hospital. The equipment consists of a state of the art washing machine, an extractor, a dryer and a pressing machine, all run on steam.
